Claudia Makeup practice 2

Products used
Kryolan Supracolor
Matte Primer

Brushes Used
eyeshadow Brush
Lip Brush
Blending Brush
Foundation Brush

First i applied the matte primer, the white supracolor to the skin for the base, then make sure is over the eyebrows, then using a eyeshadow brush apply it to the eyes, and a pink supracolor down the face, so it looks like she has been crying and i want it to be messy.
The lips is just outlined with white, then filled in with black and purple supracolor, to give the 1920s look again.

I think this one went a lot better than the first one and shows the emotion with the pink down the face and even because i have applied a white base first. I didnt go as over the top with the eyes, as i didnt want it to dark, but enough that it contrasts with the white face. I want to do this as my final make up look for Claudia as i think it shows the emotion she is feeling and shows the 1920s look, but over the top enough that it won.t look bad.

Continuity Photographs

First Assessment
These were the first images i did and it shows the makeup from different angles, but i didnt do the hair for the first one, as i done it for the second assessment. I like the lighting and shows the makeup clearly. For the veins it was Tuplast and then i mixed colours from the Kryolan supracolor palette to make the veins. The red eyes do not stand out, which is what i wanted, as it is like a fever.

Second Assessment

I think i like the veins that i created on the first assessment, but i like the hair and eyes on this one, What i would improve if i did it again was to think about how to make it look neater,as it is not just how i want it. When looking at from the back it looks good and is a bun that i twisted the hair up into.

I used latex for the veins here and they do blend into the skin a lot easier than the Tuplast and the colour was easier to mixed onto it.

Hair charts for Claudia and Quentin

The hair for quentin i was looking at pulled back hair, but it is kind of difficult to achieve this look as i have never done it before and dont know if it will work, i was inpsired by greasers, to make that sort of bad guy look. I think i should have looked into buy something to create it more in this image.

For claudia's hair i wanted something big and frizzy, so crimp the hair downwards, but leave the top of the hair straight, as i want to backcomb the crimped part. I think i want to focus nore on claudia tho, as my word is face and i want to show that as much as possible.

Face Charts for Claudia.

This face chart was a 1920s look for Claudia and i was inspired by images on pinterest of John Paul Gautier catwalk show, of really emotional looking makeup that was created on the models face. I like the messy look of the eyeshadow, as it does stand out and over the top. The lips i like the colour of as it contrasts well with the eyes.

Brushes used:
Eyeshadow Brush
Blending Brush
Foundation Brush

This is slightly the same as the first one, but the eyeshadow is down the face, as though she has been crying and the lips are the same purple, which do not over lap the upper lip, as that is the 1920s look, i think i like this one the best and would use this for my final design of Claudia. I will create this look with the products i have labelled next to it, as these are the best products to use to do it. For the lips i want to make the purple heavier and the black to, so it creates emotion and show makes the lips stand out against the pale skin.

Brushes Used:
Eyeshadow brush
Blending brush
Foundation brush

I dont like this one as much as the other two, because the eyeshadow is covering most of the face and i dont think it looks 1920s enough and doesnt show the emotion that i want to get through, and as my key word is face, i want to look at the face as much as possible and create makeup that stands out.

American Horror Story seasons

I have chosen American Horror Story: Hotel as my Tv series.

American Horror Story is a Tv series and has 5 season of different characters, places and plot.

1st season:
Murder House

A family moves into a restored mansion, unaware that it is haunted, by the former residents and victims.

2nd season;
Asylum

Is set in a asylum in 1964, and is about the stories of the inmates and the workers that occupy it, but strange things happen, going back to past and the present events that are happening.

3rd season
Coven

This is about a coven of Salem witches in New Orleans in 2013 at a academy, as they fight to stay alive, but does show events from the past,

4th season
Freak Show

Set at a freak show in 1952, as the last remaining on and how they struggle to survive.

5th season
Hotel

Set in a hotel in Los Angeles, called the Cortez, strange things happen there, includes vampires, ghost, murderers, victims and tell you their stories, even going back into past events. I have chosen this i think it goes with the characters i have chosen, as they go with the atmosphere of the hotel and where weird things happen. I like this season the better, as it is a lot darker than the others, and a lot more sexual scenes in it.

1920s Make up

Before this era, make up was only seen to be applied on prostitutes and performers, but in the 1920s it was the era of the flapper, where the cupid bow was considered, and dark eyes were seen everywhere. First the skin was to be pale created using powder, The other was a lot of red lips, but created small and smaller than the natural lip line.

The eyebrows were very thin and drawn on downwards towards the temple, rouge was also used on the cheeks, but applied in a circular motion. In the 1920s the first to appear was eyeliner, inspired by the Egyptions at that time. Also the swivel lipstick seemed to become popular and was invented in that era,

A good article that i read about 1920s make up was interesing , and is a website called Fashion gone rogue and tells you about how it started the trend of wearing makeup in that era.
